Kenzo Mania

I’ve come out of hibernation for this post!

The extremely fashion forward among us were already wearing the Kenzo print sweaters/caps/vans during fashion month. In my humble opinion, it seems Kenzo are currently trying to re-market themselves and cleverly included some really wearable sweaters in their latest collection. If Mira Duma and co. are wearing these, I knew they would be interesting. On a recent trip to Paris I stumbled across the Kenzo store and was intrigued. The sweaters in question are beautiful and perhaps more importantly: instantly wearable and cost friendly. They have also recently collaborated with New Era and Vans which adds definite street-cred to the brand, and its working. My boyfriend was the one that showed me the Vans in the first place, without even knowing about Kenzo. They are now appealing to a wider audience rather than just the fashion pack. Clever Kenzo, very clever.

P.S. Apologies to any regular readers who may have noticed I haven’t posted in AGES. I recently got a new job that is taking up all my energy and sufficiently satisfying my fashion fix. I haven’t had anything interesting to post about as a result! I’ll try and be better..!

Have a good weekend everyone! x

Love the Bobby trainers by Isabel Marant? They are sold out in most places (apparently NET-A-PORTER sold out in an hour the first time they came online), and for me they are too expensive to justify spending that much. However… Romwe have these bad boys which are much cheaper, but not so cheap you would be worried about quality. (You’re Welcome)

I’m a firm believer in quality over quantity for the very simple reason that I can’t afford to be buying the same thing over and over again. For a lot of my smarter clothes, and by that I mean not the streetwear brands I like to wear on weekends, I head to Zara. The trends are always on point, its a good price point and the quality doesn’t make me angry. That said, if you go one step further to Massimo Dutti… then you will find the quality increases further. The price does go up, but it’s still relatively reasonable and for an essential wardrobe item it’s probably worth it. I found a few things on the website that i’ve now added on to my next payday list, and will hopefully last me longer than if I bought them from H&M.

Topshop Boutique is fast becoming a collection in its own right, a bit like the Unique collection which shows at fashion week. Although launched as the answer to Topshop’s fast-fashion by offering clothes in better quality fabrics that will last longer, it has now started branching out and producing clothes in that between stage of high street/designer. Great news for me! I really love Topshop, but with a tight budget I am a huge believer in buying less and keeping longer. Working so far!

I found this photographer, Silja Magg, who is based in New York. These shots are of Caroline Winberg for Icelandic brand Kalda. When I saw these photos, I thought they were an editorial in a national magazine, rather than a fashion campaign – such great shots. Check out the rest of her work here
