Beauuuuuuuuutiful pieces from Phillip Lim… I’m going to put it out there and say it’s my favourite fashion brand. It’s receiving critical acclaim for both Womenswear and Menswear (CFDA 2012 award). I love the minimalistic idea, using beautiful luxurious fabrics and small twists. I especially love the turquoise skirt with the beige top and jacket.

I found these images from Studded Hearts blog, but they are actually styling shots taken from La Garconne. These basics are styled perfectly. My idea on luxury basics is that if you are going to spend all that money on something so simple, it should be, but it should still have something that makes it unique from the high street versions. Whether it be its material, hem line, panelling, zips etc. As a result, and what you can see in this styling, is that the finished look isn’t basic at all. It is design at its best.
